Jewish Weddings with Rabbi Mendel Simons

The chuppah is the heart of the wedding. Everything that follows—the dancing, the celebration, the joy of the evening—is a celebration of what has just taken place beneath it: two people choosing one another, beginning a life together, and creating a Jewish home.

Rabbi Mendel creates chuppahs that are deeply spiritual, emotionally alive and intentionally concise. Every word is chosen with care. Every moment is designed to help the bride and groom feel fully present to what is happening, while drawing everyone around them into the significance of the moment.

As both a rabbi and a singer, Mendel weaves melody, prayer and spoken word through the traditional moments of the chuppah, creating an experience that is uplifting, intimate and deeply moving.

The experience begins well before the wedding day. In the weeks and months leading up to the wedding, Mendel and Rachey meet personally with each couple, guiding them through the meaning behind the traditions and helping them prepare not only for the ceremony, but for the marriage they are about to begin.

Rachey offers the bride personal guidance in the traditions of Jewish marriage, including the sacred experience of mikvah. Mendel works with the couple to shape a chuppah that feels true to their story, their families and the home they hope to build together.

These conversations are personal and thoughtful, and often become the beginning of a deeper relationship that continues well beyond the wedding itself.

The goal is not simply to officiate a beautiful ceremony. It is to create a chuppah grounded in Jewish law and meaning, alive with music and emotion, and worthy of being the moment the entire wedding is there to celebrate.
