About YJP Los Angeles
YJP Los Angeles is a home for meaningful Jewish life in Los Angeles—a community built around connection, depth, celebration, and belonging.
Founded in 2012 by Rabbi Mendel and Rachey Simons, YJP brings people together through Shabbat and holiday experiences, thoughtful learning and conversation, social gatherings, music, weddings and life-cycle moments, and the Hakim Synagogue.
But the goal has never simply been to create events.
It is to create experiences that awaken something deeper—to help people feel more connected to themselves, to one another, and to the Jewish story they are part of.
Some come looking for community. Some for meaning. Some for prayer, music, learning, celebration, or simply a place that feels like home.
However you arrive, there is a place for you here.
YJP Los Angeles is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization sustained by the generosity of our community.
